We know what you’re thinking, “yet another article on climate change that lists more things I have to do!” Well, kind of, but not really. Hear us out. Sustainably understands that living a climate-friendly life cannot solely rely on the individual. That’s why we are here, to provide a hub for sustainable information, research and news. We want to set the building blocks to see what is sustainable, and who.

The idea came about by Michael Müller-Rust, a Consultant at Jefferson Frank and former Industry Platform Manager at the German Startup Association. After studying his Master’s degree at the University of St. Andrews, his intrigue into sustainable development grew. “This is a challenge that I see with excitement and intrigue, and I aspire to share these with colleagues and peers,” he says.

The average individual releases 11.2 tons of greenhouse gases per year, according to an article written by Katharina Schmidt for Utopia.de. Advising individuals to upgrade energy plans, save on heating and electricity, change their diets, and to drive more fuel-efficiently are just some essential tips to lead a more sustainable life. While these are just some steps for someone to make a difference in carbon emissions, it is not enough to change the current situation.

Yes This is Political!

We know that politics and industry are responsible for climate change too. There are two approaches to this; a top-down and a grassroots approach. The top-down means that there is an international collaboration. Such a partnership is only successful when organisations, government and institutions push industries to adapt to more sustainable practices. The grassroots level is where the individual (and their communities) understand a paradigm shift is required to shift the current climate situation.

Sustainably understands that regardless of these choices, they want to make your decisions simpler. As a product and a service to you, we are a team with a young project that’s full of potential. We work towards building a community service to highlight challenges and offer solutions for sustainable living, services and products. With big plans for the future, the team hopes to offer a research facility for people and businesses to share their research and data for better, more sustainable decisions.

Taking the first step towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle or business plan shouldn’t be difficult. Sustainably want to make it easier for you.
